Cargo competition cramps Cathay

Cathay Pacific’s fast-growing cargo business is threatened

by rising competition, falling yields, and a slowdown in volumes that appears

to be gathering pace. According to the airline, the Hong Kong cargo market has

“got off to a slow start” so far this year. Director and GM Cargo,

Ron Mathison, said the usual pre-Chinese New Year rush “did not materialise”.
