Boeing: First 777 Freighter enters final assembly

San Francisco (Thomson Financial) - Boeing Co. said Thursday it has begun final assembly work on the 777 Freighter and expects the new cargo airplane to be flight tested this summer.

The Chicago-based aerospace company said it will deliver the first 777 Freighter to its launch customer Air France in the fourth quarter of 2008. Eleven customers worldwide have ordered 78 777 Freighters, the company noted. Boeing shares were up 6 cents at $78.66.
