BOC Aviation net profit up 22% in 2010

BOC Aviation reported a 22% year-on-year increase in net profit to USD168 million in 2010, with Managing Director and CEO Robert Martin commenting that the leasing company is well positioned for the upturn in the airline industry.

BOC Aviation took delivery of 32 aircraft in 2010, with total assets increasing 14% to USD6.6 billion. The company's portfolio consists of 140 owned aircraft and 26 managed aircraft, with 65 on order and a further four aircraft due to be acquired in 2011 under committed purchase and leaseback contracts.

In leasing company share movements on Friday, AerCap gained 1.8%, the only major gain on an otherwise quite day for leasing stocks.
