Beijing Capital International Airport's traffic snaps back in Oct-08

Beijing Capital International Airport (BCIA) reported a significant turnaround in passenger traffic in Oct-08, as restrictions on aircraft movements and visas introduced in advance of the Olympics were eased. The release of pent-up demand saw domestic passenger numbers surge 29.4% year-on-year to 4.4 million, while international volumes (including Hong Kong and Macau) rose 10.4% to 1.2 million. Total passenger numbers in Oct-08 rose 24.6% to 5.7 million.
