Auckland Airport traffic up 3.8%; Beijing Capital to report record traffic during festival

Auckland International Airport (0%) shares remained stable on Thursday (23-Sep-2010), the same day the airport announced its passenger traffic rose by 3.8%. Traffic highlights in Aug-2010:

  • Passenger numbers: 1.1 million, +3.8%;
    • Domestic: 496,431, +2.8%;
    • International: 603,995, +4.5%;
  • Aircraft movements: 13,050, +1.0%.

China's Beijing Capital International Airport expects to report record traffic during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday period, with passenger numbers expected to reach 814,500. The airport reported a 35.3% year-on-year increase in departing passenger numbers to 170,000 between 16-Sep-2010 and 21-Sep-2010, while arriving passenger numbers rose 37.3% to 150,000 during the period.

The Indonesian Government may offer stakes in 11 state firms through initial public offerings in 2011 with State Enterprises Minister, Mustafa Abubakar stating: "I am sure there will be seven IPOs next year, there may even be 10." The firms will include infrastructure firms such as airport and port operators, which will add to the planned USD400 million IPO of Garuda Indonesia. Mr Abubakar added the firms included airport operators PT Angkasa Pura I and PT Angkasa Pura II.
