Amadeus suffers setback in case with Air Astana

Analysis

Global distribution systems provider Amadeus has suffered a setback in its case against Air Astana, with a Spanish court forcing it to reinstate its services to the carrier. The GDS withdrew its distribution services in early Jan-2011, following disagreement over the terms of a contract to replace one that had expired at the end of 2010.

Shares in Amadeus were down 0.6% at the close of trading on Friday. Shares in online travel agent Expedia, which is involved in a dispute with American Airlines, were up 1.1%.

Elsewhere, shares in aircraft lessor Aircastle rose 2%. The stock has gained 7.6% for the year to date and is trading near a ten-month high.
