Airport share wrap: 07-Jan-09

Analysis

Fraport and Vienna airports defied weaker market sentiment in Europe with further rises of 4.5% and 4.7%, respectively, on 07-Jan-09.

Beijing Capital Airport also put in a good day, rising 3.9% on CAAC forecasts of an 11% increase in passenger traffic in China this year and an 8% lift in cargo traffic. Beijing is expected to be one of the main beneficiaries of traffic growth in 2009, and traffic has recovered better in the capital than Shanghai (-1.7% yesterday), Guangzhou (-0.8%) and Hainan Meilan (-3.9%) airports since the Olympics.
