Air France-KLM, Lufthansa and British Airways shares keep rising

Shares in Air France-KLM gained 3.4% on Thursday, upon the release of its Jul-2009 traffic results. The carrier stabilised its passenger load factor, which increased 0.7 ppts year-on-year to 85.1%.

Air France-KLM lessened a decline in traffic (RPKs) to 3.3% year-on-year, following a drop of 5.8% in 1QFY2009/10, hinting at signs of improvement. Shares in rival, Lufthansa, jumped 3.7% yesterday.

British Airways' shares were up 5.1% yesterday, following a 7.7% gain on Wednesday. Investors expect that volumes and seat factors will improve in the peak Summer months, after they stabilised in the first quarter.
