Air China, Asiana expand code-share agreement
- BEIJING (XFN-ASIA) - Air China and South Korea's Asiana Airlines
have agreed to expand their code-share agreement to cover 11 major
China-South Korea routes, with the eventual aim of extending their
cooperation to all routes between the two countries.
The new agreement covers nine cities in China, including Beijing, Qingdao and Chengdu, and two points in South Korea - Seoul Incheon and Busan, Air China said in a statement.
Currently the carriers code-share on two routes - Beijing-Busan and Hangzhou-Seoul Incheon.
The additional code-share routes will be operated with 151 total weekly frequencies, the statement said.
Asiana now becomes the largest of the South Korean carriers operating China-Korea routes, with 172 flights a week.
Asiana is a member of Star Alliance, which Air China will also join next year.
