ACTE and CAPA to combine global events in Amsterdam for 2016, announce Australasia cooperation

Press Release

The Association of Corporate Travel Executives and CAPA - Centre for Aviation today announced they would be jointly convening two international events next year. ACTE's annual Global Travel Conference (Europe) and CAPA's World Aviation Summit will be held under one roof, in Amsterdam, on 26-28 October 2016. According to Greeley Koch, ACTE's executive director, combining these events brings together two international groups with parallel interests, while shrinking the calendar for buyers and suppliers.

"This is an opportunity to provide our members with unparalleled access to the strategic intelligence, research, and data of CAPA, complete with a comprehensive educational programme the global travel community has come to expect from ACTE," said Mr Koch. "It's all about providing membership value. In one move, ACTE and CAPA are maximizing membership exposure to industry insight, while shrinking the annual calendar. It's another way we are working to bring buyers and suppliers together on a global scale."

"CAPA and ACTE have been working together on various programmes throughout the world," said Peter Harbison, Executive Chairman of CAPA."Both groups share common objectives and a common vision. ACTE's reputation for innovation and senior level educational programmes is a perfect match for CAPA's services, which span the interests of airline CEOs and business travel managers. Combining these two annual events provides more options for clients and members, while enhancing opportunities for buyers and suppliers."

The joint announcement was made at the first general session at ACTE's annual Global Travel Conference (Europe), held in Paris 14-16 October 2015. ACTE and CAPA are building on an alliance now in its third year.

Cooperation on nine major corporate travel summits in the Australasian markets for next year

Meanwhile, CAPA and ACTE will provide nine major Corporate Travel Summits in the Australasian markets for 2016, including education forums and full-day industry strategy summits in:

This is the most ambitious joint educational program ACTE and CAPA have structured in their three year alliance, with other 2016 events to be announced.

"ACTE and CAPA are the strongest sources of innovative business travel management techniques, statistical analysis, practical programme development, and strategic intelligence serving a global industry," said Mr Koch. "These events will showcase the significance of traveller centricity in the Australasia market, while growing travel manager influence and value to their companies though our educational program. A strong partnership with CAPA in recent years has given us access to a vast portfolio of research and data for more inclusive content and stronger networking."

"CAPA is delighted to be deepening our partnership with ACTE, which has unrivalled engagement with the corporate travel community. The A$12 billion Australasian corporate travel market is a sophisticated and mature industry, with high expectations for quality, cutting-edge content, discussion and debate. We look forward to delivering an outstanding series of events in our home markets in Australasia with ACTE", said Mr Harbison.

While the programme agendas will be announced shortly, they are geared for senior executives from across Australasia's corporate travel community. The nine educational forums and travel summits will be of special interest to the region's leading full-service and boutique travel management companies, technology providers, expense management and payments providers, hoteliers, airlines, travel insurance and car hire, OBT and consulting companies. ACTE was the first global association to identify traveller centricity as a game-changer in the business travel industry. Many now regard it as a more sophisticated contribution to corporate profitability than savings alone.
