Abertis has big expansion in Lat Am, but may lose its Bolivian airports
The Bolivian Government is reportedly preparing a state takeover of the country's three largest airports, at La Paz, Santa Cruz and Cochabamba, which are currently operated by a subsidiary of Spain-based Abertis. President Evo Morales has increased state control over the economy since taking office in 2006, nationalising the vital energy sector and more recently taking control of Italian-owned Entel, Bolivia's biggest telephone company. He also nationalised a processing plant owned by Swiss mining company, Glencore, in Feb-08.
