Abertis Airport appoints Carlos del Rio as new Managing Director

(CAPA): Abertis Airports appointed Carlos del Río as

new Managing Director, replacing Miguel Puig, who has been the top executive

of the abertis airport division for the last three years. Mr del Río

was previously CEO of Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP), the company

that operates 12 Mexican airports. Before that, and for almost ten years, he

was the Managing Director of Control y Montajes Industriales CYMI, of the Dragados

Group.

Also proposed to the Board of Directors of TBI plc -a company acquired in 2005 by Abertis (90%) and Aena Internacional (10%)- is the appointment of Carlos del Río as CEO of TBI.

The until-now Managing Director of the abertis airport division, Miquel Puig, will continue being linked with the Group supporting the business development work of the different sectors of abertis activities, with special emphasis on identifying new expansion opportunities in the international markets.

Through its TBI pcl branch, Abertis Airports operates a total of eight international airports. Three of these are in the UK (London Luton, Cardiff International and Belfast International), one in Sweden (Stockholm Skavsta), three in Bolivia (La Paz, Santa Cruz and Cochabamba) and finally one in the United States (Orlando Sanford). It also has operating contracts with local governments or authorities in three more airports in the United States (Atlanta, Georgia and Burbank) and provides consultancy services through a consortium in Miami (Florida). Abertis also operates, through the Codad company, the two runways at El Dorado airport, in Bogotá (Colombia).
