About

Zing Airlines was a proposed start-up that aims to provide point-to-point services between regional centres in Canada. The carrier plans to operate from its hub at Toronto Pearson International Airport, utilising Bombardier CSeries 100 aircraft on its regional network. A crowdfunding campaign was launched in Oct-2015 to cover initial and non-recurring costs of setting-up, after which Zing Airlines plans to raise funds on the capital market for its second and last round of funding. Under a development plan, Zing planned to raise the funds, acquire authorisation and finalise a deal with Bombardier and/or 3rd party lessors to launch by 2Q2017. However, the start-up founders missed their crowd funding goal and announced it plans to acquire capital through private investors. A revised launch date had not been advised, it is assumed plans to commence operations have been abandoned.
