About

Sarasota Airlines was a proposed US start-up carrier to be based at Bradenton International Airport, Florida. Steve Miller, former CEO of Dragonair and latterly, Oasis Hong Kong, was behind the project. Miller sought to launch the start-up in 2H2013 under the name 'Sunrise Airlines'. The airline industry veteran was seeking USD30 million for the lease of four Boeing 737 aircraft, with plans to service the metropolitan centres of Baltimore, Detroit, Indianapolis, Boston and 20 additional US cities. Miller believed that with the USD30 million in capital, the start-up could generate earnings of USD164.3 million before taxes in its first year of operations. By the fourth year, Miller believed the airline could earn USD76.1 million.

The company filed for dissolution in Sep-2015.
