LTU International was a German carrier headquartered at Dusseldorf Airport. The airline operated scheduled services on medium- to long-haul routes from Dusseldorf, Berlin and Munich. LTU International was acquired by airberlin in 2007. LTU became a part of airberlin GmbH in 2009 and it's brand was effectively integrated by Apr-2011 as part of a cost reduction programme.

Air Berlin reported an 8.2% year-on-year decline in revenue for 3Q2009, to EUR974 million, which the carrier attributed to planned capacity reductions over the period, as part of its efficiency programme.
