Wellington International Airport reports EBITDA of USD32m in 1HFY2013

New Zealand's Wellington International Airport reported (09-Nov-2012) an EBITDA of NZD39.4 million (USD32.0 million) for the six months ended 30-Sep-2012 excluding subvention payments. The airport reported strong growth on the international market with passenger numbers growth of 4.2% with increased capacity provided by the Air New Zealand/Virgin trans-Tasman alliance and Qantas. Melbourne capacity grew by 8.5% and Brisbane by 5.3% and overall load factors were maintained on international services. Wellington is also bucking the trend for visitors to New Zealand from the UK/EU and US markets, where visitor arrivals have declined. Over the past 12 months, Wellington has seen a continued increase in UK/EU visitors (+11%) on the back of the Rugby World Cup 2011 and US visitors (+40%).
