Visitor arrivals to China up 4% in Dec-2010

China’s National Tourism Administration reported (19-Jan-2011) total visitor arrivals to China increased 4.1% year-on-year to 11.5 million in Dec-2010. Details include:

    • Visitor arrivals: 11.5 million, +4.1% year-on-year;
      • Hong Kong: 6.9 million, +2.0%;
      • Macau: 2.1 million, +11.7%;
      • Taiwan: 391,900, +7.5%;
      • International: 2.0 million, +3.6%;
        • South Korea: 294,800, +9.1%;
        • Japan: 264,700, -8.7%;
        • Russia: 172,100, +13.6%;
        • America: 138,600, +8.4%;
        • Malaysia: 123,900, +0.1%;
  • 12 months ended 31-Dec-2010:
    • Visitor arrivals: 133.8 million, +5.8%;
      • Hong Kong: 79.3 million, +2.6%;
      • Macau: 23.2 million, +2.0%;
      • Taiwan: 5.1 million, +14.6%;
      • International: 26.1 million, +19.1%;
        • South Korea: 4.1 million, +27.5%;
