Virgin Australia experiencing 'strong uptake' on Sydney-Melbourne service

Virgin Australia reported (23-Nov-2020) "some strong uptake on flights between Sydney and Melbourne" following the opening of the border between Victoria and New South Wales, adding: "We expect this to continue as we move closer to Christmas". Virgin Australia will operate Sydney-Melbourne service four times daily from 23-Nov-2020, with plans to progressively increase frequency prior to the Christmas holidays. By Christmas, the carrier will have more than 20,000 weekly seats available on Sydney-Melbourne services. Virgin Australia will also bring forward the reintroduction of four times weekly Melbourne-Newcastle service from 15-Dec-2020 to 24-Nov-2020. [more - original PR]
