Virgin Atlantic appoints new CEO

Virgin Atlantic announced (08-Jan-2013) the appointment of Craig Kreeger as its new CEO. Mr Kreeger will assume the role on 01-Feb-2013, joining the carrier from American Airlines. Mr Kreeger succeeds current CEO, Steve Ridgway, who is retiring from the airline. In Sep-2012, Virgin Atlantic announced Mr Ridgway would retire in spring 2013, once a successor was in place, following a 23-year tenure with the airline. Becoming CEO in 2001 he has seen Atlantic grow from two 747s to a fleet of 40 long-haul aircraft, flying six million passengers p/a.
