VINCI Airports to enable Air Serbia to launch new routes from Belgrade Airport, attract LCCs

VINCI Airports outlined (13-Feb-2019) future plans for Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport. VINCI Airports president Nicolas Notebaert  said the expectations for the airport it to raise traffic from 5 million to 15 million passengers p/a before the end of the company's concession period. Mr Notebaert added cooperation with Air Serbia is a "key part" of the airport's development strategy to enable the carrier to continue to launch new routes, however it will also work with LCCs and long haul airlines to expand their presence at the airport. Overall capital expenditure by VINCI in Belgrade Airport is estimated at EUR730 million, including reconstruction of the existing runway, construction of a temporary runway, apron overhaul, taxiway construction, including rapid exit taxiways, terminal renovation and expansion and improvement of overall services and facilities. [more - original PR]
