Vietnam Airlines' plans for IPO back on track

Vietnam Airlines CEO Pham Ngoc Minh stated the carrier's plans to launch an IPO in 2011 are "back on track", adding: "We will restart our equitisation (part-privatisation) process because we see the market has recovered. We will see Garuda as a case study and we will learn from them." (Zephus/Financial Times, 17-Jan-2011) Mr Minh is forecasting a 25% rise in revenues to USD2.3 billion (VND45,500 billion) in 2011. He gave no details of the structure or timing of the proposed IPO, which is likely to be limited to 20% or 30% of the shares.
