Vancouver International Airport breaks ground on USD6.9bn capital construction projects

Vancouver International Airport commenced (14-Jun-2018) construction on a number of capital construction projects, including a GeoExchange system, terminal expansions, additional parking areas and improved vehicle rental facilities. The projects are part of the airport's expansion plans that will see the airport complete 75 major projects, totaling CAD9.1 billion (USD6.9 billion) over the next 20 years. Vancouver Airport Authority president and CEO Craig Richmond stated: "We are experiencing record growth at YVR as we deliver on our mission to connect British Columbia proudly to the world and these ambitious expansion projects will further position YVR as a world-class connecting hub".
