United Airlines to launch Los Angeles-Shanghai service in May-2011

United Airlines stated it would operate direct daily services between Los Angeles and Shanghai from 20-May-2011 - see Route Changes Table for more information (People's Daily Online, 09-Mar-2011). The carrier operates nine daily services connecting Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong with San Francisco, Chicago and New York/Newark at present and is the largest airline for services between the US and China. "China is the most important international market for the new United," United executive VP and chief revenue office, Jim Compton said.
