Thai Airways returns to profitability in 3Q2011

Thai Airways revenue up 10% - financial highlights for three months ended 30-Sep-2011 (according to Thai Accounting Standards):

  • Total revenue: USD1623 million, +10.0% year-on-year;
  • Total costs: USD1492 million, +3.8%;
    • Fuel: USD650.3 million, +43.6%;
  • Profit before tax: USD84.2 million, compared to a loss of USD2.7 million in p-c-p;
  • Ne profit: USD79.5 million, compared to a loss of USD490,999 in p-c-p;
  • Passenger numbers: 4.8 million, +7.9%;
  • Passenger load factor: 74.0%, -0.7 ppt;
  • Cargo traffic (FRTKs): +2.1%;
  • Cargo load factor: 55.1%, -6.2 ppts;
  • Passenger yield: USD 8.74 cents, +9.0%;
  • Cargo yield: USD 32.30 cents, +4.0%;
