Switzerland and Canada sign enhanced open skies agreement

Switzerland and Canada signed an enhanced open skies agreement that offers more flexibility on services between Canada and Europe (CBC News, 27-Oct-2010). One of the key changes in the agreement includes the inclusion of Fifth Freedom Rights for airlines from Canada or Switzerland. Air Canada called the agreement an enhancement of current arrangements, stating: "It means that there are no limitations to capacity, code sharing arrangements, as well as tariff provisions." Air Canada and Swiss Air are Star Alliance partners.
