Sweden's air traffic continues to decline, 2012 traffic guidance downgraded to 2%

Sweden's LFV reported (14-Sep-2012) air traffic in Swedish airspace declined by almost 5% year-on-year in Aug-2012, the sixth consecutive month of decline. The air navigation services provider downgraded its 2012 traffic guidance to 2%. LFV business analyst Lars Ahlm attributed "air traffic in Sweden is being affected by the sluggish economic growth we are seeing nationwide as well as the economic instability which has already hindered growth in Europe for a time. Additionally, we have had a high aircraft fuel price for an unusually extended period." [more - original PR]
