Singapore Airlines Oct-2009 pax down 9.6%, load factor up; "encouraging signs"

Singapore Airlines passenger numbers down 9.6% - traffic highlights in Oct-2009:

  • Passenger numbers: 1.4 million, -9.6% year-on-year;
  • Passenger load factor: 81.1%, +3.6 ppts;
    • East Asia: 77.0%, +2.7 ppts;
    • Americas: 82.7%, +7.4 ppts;
    • Europe: 82.0%, +2.2 ppts;
    • Southwest Pacific: 86.6%, +2.0 ppts;
    • West Asia & Africa: 76.3%, +5.0 ppts;
  • SIA Cargo: 101,500 tonnes, -3.1%. [more]

Singapore Airlines: "There are encouraging signs that the decline in demand may have bottomed out, with increasing demand seen in the premium classes.
