Shared referendum commences against Groupe ADP privatisation proposal

France's Ministry for the Interior launched (Jun-2019) a shared referendum opposing a legislative proposal to privatise Groupe ADP. As previously reported by CAPA, the shared referendum must gain support of 4.7 million voters to trigger a popular referendum. Voting closes on 12-Mar-2020. The shared referendum stated: "An airport is a business unlike any other. It is a strategic political and economic tool. This opinion is shared by most European countries, for whom airports remain public property (deplacementspro.com, 13-Jun-2019). This is the case in Germany, in Spain or in Italy, where no airport is held solely by private actors". [more - original PR - French]
