Scotland airports to lose up to a million passengers by 2014

Scotland's airports announced they will lose up to a million passengers by 2014 due to the new aviation tax introduced in 2010 (business7.co.uk, 17-Feb-2011). Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow airports reportedly commissioned a study that suggests the tax rise will cost the Scottish economy up to USD105 million in lost tourism spending and jeopardise ambitions to grow Scotland's international air route network.
