Ryanair welcomes CAA’s Gatwick ruling

Ryanair welcomed (31-May-2011) the UK Civil Aviation Authority's ruling that London Gatwick has applied discriminatory charges for check-in facilities, following the LCC's 2009 complaint into passenger charges at Gatwick. Ryanair said that under the regime, all passengers are charged for check-in facilities, despite all Ryanair passengers checking-in online and the majority travelling with only hand luggage. Ryanair believes its "passengers have therefore been subsidising the check-in costs of airlines that do require passengers to use these inefficient, expensive, facilities". [more]
