Ryanair has no intention of stake in Virgin Atlantic

Ryanair stated it has no intention of purchasing a stake in Virgin Atlantic (ABTN, 29-Dec-2010). A number of carriers have been linked with a possible bid for Virgin, including Delta Airlines and at least one un-named Gulf carrier.

Ryanair: "In business as in life, Virgin will have many pursuers but Ryanair will not be one of them. While Ryanair has a long-stated plan to enter the trans-Atlantic market with a revolutionary really low fares service, we are too busy screwing Air France, BA and Lufthansa to waste time on a high-fare Virgin," Stephen McNamara, Spokesperson.
