Record year for Denver Airport in 2011 with 53 million pax

US' Denver International Airport stated 2011 was the busiest year in the airport's 17-year history and the fourth consecutive year that more than 50 million passengers have travelled through the airport p/a. Traffic highlights:

  • Dec-2011:
    • Passenger numbers: 4.3 million, +2.1% year-on-year;
      • Domestic: 4.2 million, +2.2%;
      • International: 141,475, -2.9%;
    • Cargo volume: 22,885 tonnes, -2.6%;
      • Freight and express: 20,984, -2.7%;
      • Mail: 1901, -2.1%;
    • Aircraft movements: 51,781, -3.3%.
  • FY2011:
    • Passenger numbers: 52.8 million, +1.7% year-on-year;
      • Domestic: 5.1 million, +2.1%;
      • International: 1.7 million, -10.7%;
    • Cargo volume: 248,184 tonnes, -1.4%;
      • Freight and express: 232,140, -1.1%;
      • Mail: 16,044, -5.6%;
    • Aircraft movements: 634,680, -0.1%.
