Queenstown Airport EBITDA up 12% in FY2013

New Zealand's Queenstown Airport stated (19-Aug-2013) EBITDA increased 12.2% year-on-year to NZD12.9 million (USD10.1 million) and net profit after tax totalled NZD5.3 million (USD4.1 million) for the year ended 30-Jun-2013. Queenstown Airport Corporation chairman John Gilks said the company's performance was based on strong passenger numbers, with traffic increasing 14.5% year-on-year to 1.2 million. Air New Zealand, Jetstar, Qantas and Virgin Australia all increased capacity at the airport during the year. Mr Gilks said, "Making available more seats through larger capacity aircraft and changing schedules characterised the year as the airlines had to be nimble to meet customer demand." The airport's board announced a final dividend of NZD2.6 million (USD2 million). [more - original PR]
