Queen Alia Airport finishes second phase of expansion

Airport International Group announced (07-Sep-2016) the completion of the second phase of construction of Queen Alia International Airport. The inauguration ceremony was carried out by Jordan's Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, and Jordan's PM Hani Al-Mulki. The second phase of airport expansion required an investment of JOD152 million (USD214 million) and saw the airport expand by 43,000sqm, with capacity increasing to 12 million. The expansion also increased the number of gates to 25, while adding two new duty-free areas, eight new prayer rooms, larger monitors, charging stations, an upgraded WiFi system, and two fixed link aerobridges able to accommodate A380 equipment. [more - original PR]
