Qatar Airways resumes bellyhold cargo services to China in response to 'soaring demand'

Qatar Airways announced (30-Mar-2020) the resumption of the following scheduled bellyhold cargo services to China with Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, in response to increased demand:

  • Doha-Beijing: Seven times weekly from 30-Mar-2020;
  • Doha-Shanghai Pudong: Seven times weekly from 31-Mar-2020;
  • Doha-Chengdu: Three times weekly from 31-Mar-2020;
  • Doha-Hangzhou: Four times weekly from 31-Mar-2020;
  • Doha-Guangzhou: Seven times weekly from 01-Apr-2020;
  • Doha-Chongqing: Three times weekly from 01-Apr-2020.

The service resumptions will add 600 tonnes of capacity per week, bringing the airline's total China capacity to more than 1300 tonnes per week. Qatar Airways Group CEO Akbar Al Baker stated the the COVID-19 pandemic has been "significantly contained" in China and "industrial production is restoring nationwide".
