Qantas Freight introduces first A321P2F

Qantas Freight introduced (27-Oct-2020) the first A321P2F aircraft (MSN 835) on 27-Oct-2020. The aircraft was converted from passenger to freighter configuration by Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW) in Singapore for launch customer Vallair. Qantas leases the aircraft from Vallair and will operate it on behalf of Australia Post. The A321P2F will be the only aircraft phased into Qantas' fleet in 2020. The A321P2F is powered by Pratt & Whitney V2500 engines and is the first aircraft in its size category to offer containerised loading on the main deck (up to 14 positions) and lower deck (up to 10 positions). The aircraft can handle more than 28 tonnes of payload with a range of more than 2300nm. EFW and ST Engineering expect rising demand for freighter aircraft and plan to establish additional aircraft modification sites in China, Germany and the US by 2023 to increase global conversion capacity to about 25 slots p/a. Vallair expects demand for approximately 400 A321 freighters over the next 10 years.
