Qantas and Jetstar to expand services between NSW and Victoria from 23-Nov-2020
Qantas Group announced (04-Nov-2020) plans to operate the following services between Victoria and New South Wales, when the border between the two states reopens on 23-Nov-2020:
The services will offer around 48,000 seats per week and will increase the Group's overall domestic capacity from 30% of pre-COVID-19 levels to just under 40%. Qantas domestic & international CEO Andrew David stated: "Pre-COVID, Melbourne-Sydney was the busiest air route in Australia and the second busiest in the world". Mr David added: "New South Wales has led the way in taking a sensible, risk based approach to borders that's supported by what is probably one of the best contact tracing programmes in the world". The carriers will look to add more frequencies if there is sufficient demand. [more - original PR]
