Philippine Airlines requests increase in fuel surcharges on international routes
Philippine Airlines (PAL) requested the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) allow it to raise fuel surcharges for international routes (abs-cbnnews, 24-Jan-2011). PAL's petition for authority to impose upward adjustment of fuel surcharges on international passenger tickets will be evaluated by the CAB on 27-Jan-2011. If PAL's application is approved, the following charges may apply:
- South Korea and Guam - from USD34 to USD55;
- Manila and Hong Kong - from USD25 to USD35;
- Macau and Taiwan - from USD19 to USD35;
- Xiamen - from USD24 to USD45;
- Vietnam and Singapore - from USD34 and USD29 to USD50 respectively;
- Japan and Indonesia - from USD39 and USD44 to USD60 respectively;
- Beijing and Shanghai - from USD44 to USD65;
- India - from USD104 to USD125;
- Australia and Honolulu - from USD109 and USD99 to USD130, respectively;
- US and Canada - increase to USD135.
