Philadelphia International Airport to conduct pilot for biometric exit screening

Philadelphia International Airport announced (14-Jan-2020) plans to commence a 45 day pilot of biometric screening technologies at three international gates, effective 21-Jan-2020, to assist the US Customs and Border Protection process departing passengers. The test of three types of biometric systems, veriScan, NEC and SITA, will be conducted at gates A15, A16 and A17 for select outbound international frequencies operated by Qatar Airways, British Airways, Lufthansa and American Airlines. The pilot programme will also include Synectecmedia ReadySeeGo digital signage, which will display multimedia, bilingual content to create passenger awareness of the biometric cameras and provide instructions for their use.
