Ottawa Airport's pre-boarding screeners vote in favour of strike

Canada's Ottawa International Airport's pre-boarding screeners have voted 98% in favour of a strike if they cannot reach a collective agreement with Aeroguard Eastern Ltd (The Canadian Press, 03-Jun-2011). Outstanding issues include wages, benefits and pensions. Bargaining committees representing the 250 screeners and Aeroguard will meet with a federal conciliator on 10-Jun-2011, stated director of the United Steelworkers Ontario-Atlantic division, Wayne Fraser.
