Oman Air seeks exclusive airline alliances in Europe, Africa and Americas

Oman Air chief officer of corporate affairs Phillipe Georgiou stated the carrier is studying options for strategic and exclusive alliances with single airlines in Europe, Africa and the Americas (Arabian Aerospace, 14-Mar-2011). Mr Georgiou added that the carrier is "on target" in its five-year plan to profitability.

Oman Air: "We already have effective codeshare agreements with Emirates and Malaysian but we are looking for one alliance in each of Africa, Europe and the Americas. However, this makes sense only if the criteria are in line with our airline vision on positioning and avoiding mismatch. Exclusivity is what we seek. We have a five-year plan towards profitability. We are in the second year and we are on target," Phillipe Georgiou, chief office of corporate affairs. Source: Arabian Aerospace, 14-Mar-2011.
