O'Hare construction causes close calls: FAA

US Federal Aviation Administration announced the almost-completed first phase of construction at Chicago O'Hare International Airport has led to close calls that could have resulted in accidents (Chicago Tribune, 27-Mar-2011). The FAA has been prompted to revise its daily alerts to pilots about airfield conditions and other procedures. Work building a runway in the southern part of O'Hare can commence now the city, American Airlines and United Continental Airlines have agreed on the project after a legal battle.
