OAG: Airlines cut 19% from planned capacity over first two months of 2021

OAG reported (22-Feb-2021) over the first two months of 2021, airlines have operated or scheduled 451.5 million seats, a 19% reduction in capacity compared to schedules published at the beginning of 2021. Current capacity for Mar-2021 is scheduled at 278.2 million seats. This is down from the 380.8 million seats that were operated in Mar-2020, a decline of 26.9%. According to OAG, the forward looking capacity reflects airlines hopes for demand to pick up as vaccination roll outs continue and consumer confidence hopefully rebuilds. [more - original PR]
