Middle East airports look to ease bottlenecks

SITA announced that airports in the Middle East are increasingly investing in technology to reduce bottlenecks at airport check-in and quicken the time spent boarding aircraft (AMEinfo, 01-Nov-2010). SITA stated that while airports in the Middle East trail the Western world in implementing new technology, they are gaining ground fast.

SITA: "The Middle East is behind compared to other parts of the world, but there are a lot of new airports in the region, which is very positive, and a lot of airlines are doing major changes in their infrastructure. It is one of the most active regions," Jihad Boueri, Regional Vice President, Solution Line. Source: AMEinfo, 01-Nov-2010.
