Malaysia Airlines has strategic partnership with Google, Google has employee at MAS HQs

Malaysia Airlines senior VP global sales and distribution Duncan Bureau, speaking at the CAPA Australia Pacific Aviation Summit, stated (08-Aug-2013) the carrier has a strategic partnership with Google, and the two companies have been working together for the past year. He said that "Google has heavily invested in this space" and Google has an employee at the carrier's headquarter. He said the carrier is using Google Analytics and is increasing looking at demand forecasting. He said schedule planners are being involved in this, with the carrier to increasing use data beyong looking only at transaction. He also said the companies are working on ways to get visitors to stay on the carrier's site and to use information on search habits to determine where people want to travel to.
