Lufthansa Group reports strong profit growth in 2015, 2016 outlook positive

Lufthansa Group revenue up 7% - financial highlights for 12 months ended 31-Dec-2015:

  • Total revenue: EUR32,056 million, +6.8% year-on-year;
    • Passenger Airline Group: EUR24,499 million, +5.1%;
    • Logistics: EUR2355 million, -3.3%;
    • MRO: EUR5099 million, +17.6%;
    • Catering: EUR3022 million, +14.8%;
  • Total operating costs: EUR33,536 million, +7.4%;
    • Passenger Airline Group: EUR24,508 million, +3.5%;
      • Fuel: EUR5464 million, -13.2%;
      • Labour: EUR4675 million, -10.4%;
  • EBIT: EUR1676 million, +67.6%;
    • Passenger Airline Group: EUR1465 million, +105%;
    • Logistics: EUR3 million, -97.6%;
    • MRO: EUR448 million, +3.5%;
    • Catering: EUR85 million, +13.3%;
  • Net profit: EUR1698 million, compared to a profit of EUR55 million in p-c-p;
  • Passenger numbers: 107.7 million, +1.6%;
  • Passenger load factor: 80.4%, +0.3 ppt;
  • Cargo volume: 1.9 million tonnes, -3.1%;

Lufthansa Group: "Thanks to the generally positive outlook for both the industry and for the global economy as a whole, the Lufthansa Group expects a positive performance in the financial year 2016…a further reduction in yields is expected, particularly in the Lufthansa Group home markets.
