London Heathrow pax up 1%, cargo down 4% in Feb-2013; growth due to larger aircraft, not new routes

UK's London Heathrow Airport passenger numbers up 1% - traffic highlights for Feb-2013:

Heathrow CEO Colin Matthews stated the Feb-2013 traffic "reflects larger, fuller aircraft being used at Heathrow, not the addition of new routes to emerging economies which are so vital to UK trade, jobs and economic growth." British Airways' acquisition of bmi contributed to the increase, which was driven by a 1.8% rise in the average number of seats per aircraft to 198.4 seats, and a 2.4 ppts increase in load factor to 69.6%.
