Japan's MLIT reports 2% drop in FY2010 domestic passenger numbers

Japan's MLIT released its 2010 Aviation Statistics (Nikkan Koku, 01-Jul-2011). It reports domestic scheduled passenger numbers fell 2% year-on-year while international passengers carried by Japanese carriers fell 11% year-on-year in FY2010. Details include:

  • Passenger numbers:
    • Domestic: 82.2 million, -2% year-on-year;
    • International: 13.7 million, -11%;
      • China: 3.0 million, -5.5%;
      • Korea: 1.9 million, -15.5%;
      • Other Asian countries: 4.2 million, -10.3%;
      • US Continent: 1.5 million, -8.3%;
      • Pacific: 1.8 million, -13%;
      • Europe: 1.2 million, -15.5%;
      • Oceania: 184,310, -27.1%.
