Iraqi Airways signs LoI for five CS300s and 11 options

Iraqi Airways signed (19-Nov-2013) a LoI for the acquisition of five Bombardier CS300 aircraft and options for 11 more. A firm order would be valued at USD387 million at list price and USD1.26 billion if the options are converted to firm orders. The airline currently operates six CRJ900 NextGen aircraft. Iraqi Airways director general and CEO Saad Al-Khafaji said, "Growing passenger demand in an increasingly competitive Middle East and European airline market has created a need for fuel-efficient, comfortable, technology-advanced aircraft like the CSeries jetliners."
