Indian aviation industry requires investments of USD30bn over next 15 years

India's Civil Aviation Secretary Nasim Zaidi stated the country's aviation industry requires investments of INR1.35 billion (USD30 billion) over the next 15 years for infrastructure and acquiring new aircraft (Indo-Asian News Service, 07-May-2011). Mr Zaidi stated the investment is needed for the industry to cope with the increasing air passenger and cargo demand. He added the industry also requires long-term planning and a new regulatory framework.
